Contests

“Green and Blue, Good for School Too” is an art competition for primary and secondary school pupils in the Ústí nad Labem Region that combines creativity with environmental education. The theme of the competition is blue-green adaptation measures to climate change that can be implemented in urban school environments. The main goal of the competition is to help pupils understand the importance of water features and greenery, which support ecological stability and the quality of life in cities. The competition emphasises that these measures are not merely aesthetic, but generate a range of further benefits for both society and the environment.

The pilot edition of the competition took place last autumn in the town of Lovosice. The first official edition of the art competition will be held in spring 2026 and is open to any primary or secondary school in the districts of Ústí nad Labem, Teplice, and Děčín. Entries must be submitted by 31 May 2026. The competition rules, instructions, and further information are provided in the materials below; all up-to-date information can be found on the competition’s Instagram profile.
