Public Portals

The Public Map Portal Environmental Quality of Towns in the Ústí nad Labem Region (Beta Version) follows on from the research report of the same name.

The portal provides access to information on the aggregated assessment of environmental quality in the basic settlement units of the Ústí nad Labem Region. The level of the environment in one’s place of residence is a significant factor contributing to the overall health and well-being of the population. Monitoring and evaluating these aspects enable towns to better understand the state of the environment and to adopt targeted measures that promote long-term sustainability and improve the quality of life of local residents.

Existing assessments have often been developed in different territorial contexts or are insufficient in scope. The proposed map portal is based on a new methodology grounded in a detailed evaluation of the key factors affecting the health and well-being of the population, down to the level of basic settlement units (BSUs/ZSJ).

Individual BSUs/ZSJ are categorised into four groups according to population density, and for each BSU/ZSJ the level of environmental quality is displayed based on the aggregation of 12 datasets describing the landscape (Research Report).
