Project Aims
The project’s aim is to contribute to a fundamental transformational change in the Ústí nad Labem Region through excellent research, expertise and knowledge transfer, primarily at three levels – individual (personal), collective (societal), and comprehensively geographical (territorial). The key concept is creativity, understood as the capacity to create added value, push existing boundaries and possibilities, and discover new potential and opportunities in a rapidly changing society and landscape.
The project has four interconnected parts. The first, called Creative People, strives for a comprehensive transformation of the region’s educational system and the range of new educational content and formats. The second part, Creative Community, focuses on transforming the society and economy of the Ústí nad Labem Region from a collective or community perspective. The third part, Creative Environment, aims at the regeneration and diversified sustainable use of the Ústí nad Labem Region’s landscape, where the environmental impacts of coal mining and related industries combine with the current challenges of climate change. The fourth part, Creative Institution, seeks to transform the university and its campus into an environment demonstrating smart and sustainable solutions, thereby offering inspiration for other institutions and organisations in the Ústí nad Labem Region.
